Exceptional
Analogies :: Why we Do What We Do
There
was a beach with a small crowd of people
standing around, arguing and discussing
the fate of a woman who was in the process
of drowning. The first person said "I
told her not to go out there in the first
place!" Another person said, "That’s
why I took swimming lessons, she should
have too." Still another said, "Sure,
I would've liked to feel the cool clean
water, but I knew better. I wouldn’t
want to be in her situation, that’s
exactly why I didn't go into the sea
myself."
A fellow swimmer said “The
fact that she’s drowning makes us
all look bad…don’t lump me
in with her!”” Next, a businessman
came along "It’s a sink or swim
world, that’s what you get when you
play with the big boys." Finally,
a more compassionate person came along
and started yelling instructions to the
drowning woman from the shoreline "Kick
your feet! Pull yourself up by the bootstraps,
you can do it!" But the woman was
so busy drowning, she couldn't hear the
advice.
The drowning woman had been
crying out in silent desperation for what
seemed like a very long time, and she was
beginning to believe two things: She didn’t
deserve help, nor was help forthcoming.
But unbeknownst to her, Someone had heard
her prayers, God knew of her distress.
He chose to call a former drowning woman
to THROW HER A LIFE PRESERVER! That life
preserver starts with prayer and is followed
by establishing relationships with other
women who pray.
Simply put, God wants you to
know Him. We’re here to help you learn
to live a life filled with faith, and to
get you into the habit of asking God for
miracles on a regular basis. We are here
to give encouragement, affirmation and a
quiet place of rest for busy, busy women.
This is our life's work, and this is what
Working Mom™ and the book Prayers for
the Working Mom are about.
Working Mom™ currently
does most of our work online through the
website http://www.workingmom.com.
The site averages over 3,000 hits per day
with most people accessing the free time-saving
tools posted online. If you haven’t
already done so, then check out the grocery
list, the chore chart and the babysitter
checklist.
This spring Working Mom™ is
expanding the internet ministry to include
video and audio clips of the Prayers for
the Working Mom Seminar on the 7 Secrets
to Phenomenal Success. Let us know anything
else you’d like to see. We’d
love to hear from you.
